As more and more Australian athletes begin ski racing and training at a younger age, there is an increasingly greater demand from young Australians to train in the Northern Hemisphere. In 2015 eighteen U12s and eight U10s raced in the Thredbo Cup and for the 2016 year, the interschool program has introduced a new Division 6, for racers in Kindergarten to Year 2.
To perform, these athletes need access to high quality training, which must be supported at all levels for athletes to truly realise their full potential and deliver results. This includes: time on snow, race experience, professional coaching, world class training venues, nutrition, fitness, equipment, education and overall health and wellbeing. Peak Ski Racing Academy's core live-in program has been developed to deliver a holistic training program and is aimed at U14 and U16 athletes however a live-out option is also available for all age groups however particularly for the U12s. The live-in program covers all aspects of training and race support, transportation, accommodation, meals, dryland training, equipment maintenance and advisory, and schooling. The live-out program will cover transportation from the Peak headquarters to training resorts with an option to drop directly to the resorts, race training and lunch. Access to the ski tuning service and equipment advisory will be available and there is potential for race participation. |
